The Raised Tower
The proud Mercanius's shop has the air of a high-end open-market stall, a spread of wooden tables holding a variety of finely crafted goods, and a book explaining his elaborate commission fee process. The air is somewhat spoiled however, by his proudest creation. At the edges of the stall, four large pillars somehow hold aloft an entire wizard's tower, with no entry to the floors above visible. At night, the pillars lower, presenting the walls of the tower to deter any would-be thieves, despite the Foundling Village having a low crime rate. In the day, several bound Invisible Stalker's assist customers and imply a threat to the same rare thieves.
Mercanius himself has a bitter rivalry with the magic shop across the street, Magic & Things. This stems from a philosophical difference. While the elven wizard carefully mastered a wide variety of forms of artifice in sequence, his reckless rival pursues every form at once, without care for the damage of incomplete understandings to his work. From this rivalry, the two have begrudgingly developed a standard pricing model between their two shops, competing on relative quality for visitor's coin.
