Half-Elf

The result of an Elf having a child with another Humanoid.

Half-Elf Player Traits (For D&D 5e)

Ability Score Increase.  Your Charisma score is increased by 2, and two other ability scores of your choice increase by 1.
Age.  Half-Elves mature at the same rate as most other Humanoids and reach adulthood around the age of 20.  They live longer than their non-Elven parent by about 100 years.  A Human based Half-Elf usually lives to around the age of 180, but a Gnome based Half-Elf can live nearly 600 years.
Size.  Half-Elves are about the same size as their non-Elven.  If your non-Elven parent was a Human, your size is Medium.  If your non-Elven parent was a Gnome, your size is Small.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision.  You can see in dim light within 60 feet as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Fey Ancestry.  You have advantage on saving throws against effects that cause the charmed condition and magic can't put you to sleep.
Skill Versatility.  You gain proficiency in two skills of your choice.
Languages.  You can speak, read, and write three languages, usually Elvish, the language of your non-Elven parent, and a language used by a nearby people group.
