Mibril

History

The City of the River was considered the grandest city of any kind on the face of the earth.  Built upon a hill on an island in the small bay fed by The Mibr River and founded by Jalamier, firstborn of the Jaharin Elves.  It is said entire towers were constructed entirely of ghoststeel and the entire city had a network of permanent teleportation circles linking the various levels and areas of the city.  Some of the mightiest magics and most powerful artifacts of the Modern Age were crafted here by or with the help of the Jaharins.   In 2666 MA, the Elves were given a prophecy from The Watcher in the Web that dragons would destroy their beautiful city.  Bringing together their greatest craftsmen, the Jaharins forged the 8 Collars of Dragon Mastery, which could bend the will of a dragon to a mortal's whims.  They then gifted these collars to the Humans of the region, who were in constant opposition to the dragons and their followers.  The Humans waged a long and bitter war with the dragons that brought dragons to the brink of extinction.  After the war was completed, the humans returned to Mibril and raised it to the ground, blaming the Elves for their losses.  The 8 dragons controlled via the Collars of Dragon Mastery caused massive casualties, fulfilling the prophecy.  The 8 humans using the collars took the name Dragon Lord and demanded worship and the death of any and all Jaharin Elves they could find in their perceived territory.  The Jaharin population has never fully recovered from this blow, hardly reaching half the population of Mibril in it's hayday by the year 4000 MA.
