Chapter 19: One path closes, another opens
General Summary
Predictably, Sam was denied at the gate of Eglisain. Without identification, she would not find a legitimate means of entering the city once more. Biding her time, she camped outside, keeping an eye on those coming and going to and from the city. Getting some shut-eye before the next day would arrive, Sam would once more find herself in Lakmir's forest.
Lakmir seemed to have not had the knowledge gained from the Orbital Monitoring Station in prior lives, yet her goal remains the same: The bring equilibrium to the three worlds. The Gate must open for that to happen, or so she believes. Sam still harbors doubts about this plan, as the more she learns from others, the less likely any approach seems like a good one. The situation may be more nuanced and intricate than she desired.
Lakmir wishes for Sam to open the Gate and bring equality to the worlds by ensuring tyrants and those who seek to gain at the expense of others are given no place in the world. In some ways, Lakmir's plan is a tyranny on its own, a rule brought upon through the vision and ideals of a singular individual with no counsel from others.
Yet in order to rule, Sam would have to grow further, and to that end Lakmir proposed the next step in her aetherial transformation, to utilize the blessings of the Heirs to evoke new forms of martial prowess. Samantha chose the path of diversity, choosing to expand her array of potential means of doing battle over the potent techniques of the Heirs.
Devoting her current mastery to her Avian form, Sam pondered upon a new style, one to protect herself and allies, one suited for the Ursine form granted to her by the Behemoth.
Sam woke up to find a city in turmoil, something had happened, but what? Disguised as a Royal Sage, she managed to get back into the city.
