Chapter 35: A Minor Reunion

General Summary

Lucia questioned Samantha on her quest thus far and the implications it might have for her own. Samantha explained the Pantheon and its simulacra that pervade the world, her journey to find the Heirs and how the worlds must be saved from destruction. In turn, Lucia would pledge her swords to her cause, ensuring a Guardian is once again in control.
About to learn more of Lucia's past, the party was rudely interrupted from their advance on the gate by the assassin that came for the king of Eglisain. Though the situation was quickly de-escalated, as this turned into a sudden family reunion. Nevia, the Queen of the Southern Wastes and would-be assassin of kings turned out to be the younger sibling of Lucia, High Priestess in the world she originated from.
The party was allowed passage into the nameless city, largely sustained by the mages that had fled there, taking up conjuration as a means of sustaining life of those forced to take up residence in the Wastes. Yet these arts hail from another place entirely, taking the lessons from those living on Eteras Minor and applying them to the Old World ruins on Major allowed live to thrive even in the most desolate of places.
Lucia elaborated upon her home, and the religious Order that holds sway there. With swordsmanship acting as a central focus of their society, those who excel at it are elevated in status and bestowed titles. A prophecy foretold of a calamity that would visit her people, that only a knight of legend could banish. But instead, it was she and her sister that would find themselves banished to another world.
Within the Transit Hub of the nameless city, Sam would encounter her seventh Heir. Quick to grant her its blessing after re-affirming her commitment to the cause, the Heir sent her on her way through the transit system, directly to the next Heir.
