Chapter 5: The Liondog

General Summary

Taking a visit to the Aetherological Research Institute of Aetheric Redistribution, Samantha was able to bring herself up to speed on the arts she had witnessed in her travels so far. While looking for the history of aetheric redistribution, she chanced upon a studious individual who seemed to have information on the same subject. He proposed, indirectly: When Air runs low, it seeks to refill itself, attempting to regain a state of equal concentration, yet Aether does not do this. Air has wind to circulate itself, yet Aether lacks such a mechanism. When pressed for more information, he swiftly excused himself.

Leaving for the eastern gate after some studying, Samantha ran into Kale. On their journey, they discussed matters of Fate and Conviction, a subject Kale seems rather acquainted with. They moved through the forest without a dangerous encounter, thus saving ammo.

The party arrived at an abandoned decrepit fortress, similar in age to the one found near Cortaire. Within the last intact building lay the Guardian Liondog, whom was unwilling to share details about the mission Sam was set on. That is, before being challenged to a fight for lack of better options. Dispelling the curse placed upon the Liondog ended the battle, providing Sam the blessing of yet another Guardian.

The Liondog revealed that the Gate is a means to traverse between Eteras and one of its neighboring planets, one which can only be powered by the blessing of all nine Guardians. With two in tow, Seven remain scattered across the world.
