Chapter 9: Leftovers

General Summary

Gaining 300 Gelt to spend from the Maid of House deFleur, Sam set out to the markets to browse their wares. Finding little of use besides food, she left with one meal's worth of mixed vegetables.
Visiting the library, Samantha learnt of the history of Parmante, how the city got started and how Gwynneth's arrival shifted their resources to long-term sustainability and self-sufficiency. House deFleur was founded to keep this plan going throughout the centuries to follow.
A last visit to the Observatorium revealed some additional information on the Eteras Cluster, notably the aether's concentration on the various worlds. While Eteras Major is known to have small pockets of aether, one particular spot, west of what is presumably The Kingdom of Eglisain had a curious blue-violet hue. Eteras Medius featured an aetheric aura all over the planet, while that of Eteras Minor was outright blinding in concentration.
Reflecting on her time in Parmante by admiring the painting of the founding Lady, Gwynneth, Samantha ended her day with a conversation with the current Lady, Arriadne. Arriadne's stance on matters seems to indicate she has little interest in the ways of the Old World, instead seeking ways to thrive in the current conditions of the world. By committing to further research, she may yet find a way to no longer need aether on Eteras Major.
Prepared for her journey the next day, Samantha went to bed.
