Personal history
Though boasting a long history of events in his career, none would be as impactful as the whimsical decision to address a succubus' problem finding a humane way to acquire sustenance. Conceiving the idea of a regenerative food source, Mac would receive an amulet containing the souls of three criminals. Combining the restorative properties of angelic energies, the potency of demonic energies and the unexpected addition of the energy of a goddess of affection, Mac would create an artifact capable of being feasted upon time and again, accumulating its charge back over time.
Though such an item could not be created in the physical world without great magical talent, Mac had the capability to venture into his own Mindscape after earlier encounters with the White Falcon awoke his latent dimensional traversal capabilities. Initiating the process, Mac successfully created the item of his imagination, but with some unforseen consequences. Mac's soul was unbound from his body and launched a great distance. Excess energies from the creation process flooded into his body, causing it to grow unstable in a physical state and subsequently convert it to Aether.
The souls trapped within the amulet were also unbound from their prison. Dazed and confused, the three souls were presented with a problem as the body began to decay and collapse without a soul to control it.
After locating the mindscape's control space, Jason Frey was put in charge of controlling it, as the interfaces seemed intuitive to him as a cyberpath. With the help of Mirian Stenford and Marcus Redfield, Jason was able to gain full control over the mindscape and the body of Mac, stabilizing it.
Overwhelmed by the memories of Mac's life imprinted upon him, and suppressing the memories of his own life in the process, Jason would then lead Mac's life, though now a mutated simulacrum of the man he once was, until Mac's soul could find its way back to his body.
Luckily, he eventually did.
