Session 7 / Tuuran Hill Part 1 Report
General Summary
Session started with party approaching Tuuran Hill, to which they had been led by the frog tribe. The hill had a low stone entrance. Thupyaf decided to search around for another entrance. The party found a back entrance on the other side of the hill, a small crawl-space that they could squeeze through.
The Train
The party found themselves in an old-world train carriage, buried under the hill. The carriage was tilted towards one end and flooded at the bottom. The party manage to swim down to the bottom of the carriage and pass through the door into the next carriage.
The second carriage was a dining car. The party looted it for food.
The third carriage contained a tripwire, which the party failed to the detect. The carriage locked and began to flood. The party managed to escape the trap.
The Station
After exiting the train, the party found themselves underground in Tuuran Hill, which turned out to be an old-world train station. The party tried to exit the hill but were driven back by frog people. As they were returning to the hill, the party encountered a creature who was part automaton, part undead. His automaton parts were in the shape of a spider. He had a glass steam core in his back.
Meela
The automaton introduced himself as Meela. He found a kinship with Diira due to their shared love of machines, but expressed contempt for Thupyaf. The party tried to gain information from Meela but he was unhelpful. After some back-and-forth, Meela tried to convince the party to come deeper into the tunnels under the hill. Diira went with him willingly at first. Meela grabbed Diira and started dragging him. Diira tried to take Meela's leg apart to see how it worked and failed. However, Meela retreated into the tunnels.
The party approached a door at the far side of the train station's platform. It was guarded by mechanical moths which attacked the party. The party defeated the moths in a conflict and Diira gathered up the damaged moths to repair later.
Meela's Library
The party went through the door and discovered Meela's personal library. They found a number of books of interest to adventurers (maps and so on). They also found a journal written by an old-world doctor. The doctor wrote of creating steam cores by putting human souls in them, which appeared to have triggered a plague of monsters leading to the collapse of the Ancestor Civilization.
