A Brief Introduction

Hello and welcome, friends!   This won't be a long one, but I wanted to listed a bunch of super obvious technical stuff because there is always the possibility things could change (and because it makes everything feel more official).   The Realms of Raen'dor, and the wider take on the Material Plane that it exists as a part of, are a homebrew setting for Dungeons and Dragons 5e (and previously D&D 3.5e). Currently all supplementary material for D&D 5e is allowed in our campaign, with the exception of Acquisitions Incorporated and the Rick and Morty supplement. Homebrew content is allowed, included and encouraged, with DM permission.   Playtesting for One D&D has begun! We are currently using some rules found in the playtest material for One D&D (see "Rules Info" for more information on specific rules).   We currently hold our sessions online; we use the following tools:
  • D&DBeyond for character creation, encounters, and rules information.
  • Roll20 as a virtual tabletop.
  • WorldAnvil (you are here!) for all homebrew rules information, and for all info/lore about the world and the campaign (some of this information is also in our shared Google Docs folder).
  • Fantasy Calendar for tracking in-game time and specific campaign events.
If you're in the campaign you should already have the links to all this stuff, but if you need specific link it should be posted in our Discord server.   Speaking of WorldAnvil, there's a lot on here! Here's a quick navigation guide:
  • Player Options/Rules Info: All the technical stuff (that isn't covered on D&DBeyond) that would relate to actually playing the game.
  • World Atlas: Contains information about the various regions, cities, and other places of interest throughout Raen'dor.
  • World Encyclopedia: Contains information about the organizations, history, lore and magic of Raen'dor, and the planes that for centuries overlapped it.
  • Campaigns: Records all campaigns run in the world.
  • Timelines: Provides timelines of events, both for world history and for campaign events.
  • Maps: Should be pretty self-explanatory!
That should be it! I'm sure there's more that could go here, but lets be honest: if you're reading this document you can just ask me whatever you need to know, so just ask!
While you're here:    Thanks for taking the time to read this probably unnecessary article, and more importantly for reading/caring about the actual stuff on here-- I love making these worlds and telling these stories with you all, and every minute of work on the information here was a blast because I knew I was making it for you. I truly can't imagine my life without our group and our games. Whether they take place in this world or some other one, I hope this is our best adventure yet-- and that there's an even better one waiting after. I love you all! <3 -Willow
