House Vangrim
House of Burning Rain
While it is the only High House who does not rule from a major city, House Vangrim nonetheless command respect and are one of the older noble families. A house of warriors, Vangrims tend to be severe and dour, and one of the less “cultured” High Houses in that they have historically not cared much for frivolity/noble conduct. Many common folk find this family intimidating, ambitious, and harsh. While these are stereotypes to a point, many Vangrims throughout history have embodied it so perfectly that it has taken on some level of truth. While Lord Maddock and the Vangrims themselves exude power, in truth their House and domain have struggled somewhat to back up their reputation; The people of Vanshire have become somewhat dependent on other High Houses (particularly the Wildemere family) for imports, and the lack of resources in the area give House Vangrim little to trade evenly in return-- save for political favors and the gold in their dwindling coffers.
House Vangrim's crest is three black arrows crossed, framed by red and orange flames.
