The Order of the Glass Library
What Nightcrest Academy is to prospective adventurers, The Glass Library is to scholars and spellcasters who wish to broaden their knowledge of the known world. Anyone who wishes to study a specific subject can come to the Library to research and study; if an individual wishes to go beyond personal research and join the Order, they must present a thesis that either expands on a known subject or presents a new addition to the library's vast collection.
The scholars of the Glass Library rarely interfere in political affairs, aside from one major rule: the enforcement of magical law. Between the reverence of magic felt in Serediza and the history of dark magics being used by tyrants such as the Undying King, the High Council of Raen’dor called on the Order of the Glass Library to formulate and regulate doctrine of magical law that could then enforced by the High Houses and the Triad throughout Raen’dor. Should there ever be a change to the way that magic is viewed and practiced in the realms, that change would begin within the Glass Library.
