Kaylong

Kaylong is a town on the outskirts of the Faewalker Ruins. During the Affliction, the site of the ruins was subject to typhoons, floods, and earth tremors eventually making it uninhabitable. After the Affliction, researchers became interested in the Faewalker Ruins as they thought it was a site that could give them insight into the past (specifically what kind of magic was used in the past). As more researchers frequented this site, a town on the ruin's outskirts emerged, now known as Kaylong. Kaylong has been built up on and into the mountains in order to avoid floods or other natural disasters that used to plague the land.
Kaylong is not a large town as it's residents are mainly researchers. There is a branch of a large research organization located here. This includes a library, offices, and artifact analysis work areas that can be accessed by the researchers. Though Kaylong has a small year round population, tourists and travelers do come through the city to view the Faewalker Ruins. Demographics

Kaylong's year-round inhabitants are made up of 25% firbolgs, 18% elves, 15% dwarves, 12% genasi, 12% humans, 18% other races.

Government

Kaylong has a leader similar to a mayor--called the Altacra--who was appointed based on their achievement in the field of arcane research. They are in charge of dealing with the law, defense, education, and infrastructure.
