Sanguine Sunrise #11: Puppies, Paralysis, and Planning
General Summary
Kiwi goes and speaks to Gennal at the grove. She finds him weaving together grass and flowers. She refuses to take some time to learn how, and instead immediately asks for advice immediately. She asks what to do with Grimace who has peculiarly become obsessed with this sword. He says, "well, people can change what they like quickly," but Kiwi claims it's not just that, so he suggests that they get someone with arcane knowledge to take a look at the blade. After this, she asks about Luthrin who has seemingly fallen into a state of apathy. He suggests to not push too hard, but try to figure out what is wrong, but above all else, show that you still care for that person. Kiwi then goes to leave, and Gennal reveals he weaved a flower bracelet for her, and places it upon her wrist.
She goes back to the Fallen Tower where she finds a very drunk Skek. She goes to take care of him, and does so in her own way. She then waits for the other two to come back.
Meanwhile, Grimace and Luthrin go to the Armorer where Grimace tries and fails to stop Luthrin from continuing. They go into the back, meeting a green man wearing a 10 gallon hat and a large green coat with buttons down the side and rings on his fingers. He introduces himself as Kor'fel, and greets Luthrin well as he says he is a wolf of the Zhentarim. He tells them that this is the guild of the coin and of a forge in the protector's enclave that houses the guild of shadows. He also tells them to go back to Dion's bounty and say that they have Kor'fel's blessing to be there.
As the two leave, Grimace again tries to stop Luthrin, resulting in the two heading separate ways when Grimace fails. Luthrin heads to Dion's Bounty, where he enters an under compartment of the longship where rowers should be located. Instead, he hears music coming from a kenku and sees a tortle, a tiefling, and numerous other individuals selling supplies. Luthrin talks to the tiefling and buys a few drugs and a pipe before leaving.
Meanwhile, Grimace goes on a hunt for a dog. He manages to find a shop where different animals are sold. He finds a very young puppy that he buys and carries to the tower, unsure of a name for her.
The group all meet up with everyone else at the tower. They discuss the new puppy, and things continue to happen. Finally, they go to sleep. That is except for Skek and Luthrin.
Skek goes to look for the body of the guard he murdered. When he does, he runs into three corpses in an alleyway. He then sees spectral entities rise around him. He nearly dies and doesn't know quite what to do, but he then turns the undead and runs away and goes to sleep. Meanwhile, Luthrin performs a familiar scene where he takes out a pipe and smokes the void, going to sleep.
In the morning Rastra returns with a magical tome and a sword strapped to her hip. She says she is going to continue going after the duergar despite everything. The party debates with Skek about doing this, and decide this might not be a great idea. However, when they return to speak to Rastra about it, she easily convinces them to actually help. They decide to send her around to find and speak to people of Thornhold on how they could attack the keep later on while the party gains favor with the factions of the coast. They speak to the person who deals with coin for workers, and Rastra heads off.
Then the rest move off, and Grimace heads to the arena. He fights and loses against a tiefling soldier named Filch.
