Aldreivetur

Hark and listen to what I have to say about the great city of Aldreivetur. Learn what it means to be a true warrior amongst the people! In the city of Waterdeep, our fellows our laxed and allow the interminglings of those chosen by Dreus and those who impudently stood in his way. In Aldreivetur, everyone understands this distinction, and if they don't, well, they learn fast or they no longer have a need to learn. Which in all due fairness, is what I find most interesting.   The city was gloriously rebuilt by our people. In the great Northern raid, we came and attacked the city in hordes, sending many of our souls onward to the great everlasting battle. However, with our onslaught and with the aid of the white ones, we managed to fell the last great bands of adventurers holding the broken city together, and we razed the lowly settlement to the ground, and we held its broken so-called protector under our boot. From what I hear, his skull was no harder to crush than any other mans, and Dreus be damned if it was difficult to get him into crushing position, so I ask, what made the soft, coastal people think he was a valiant leader for such a powerful site for a settlement?   Well, that is all over now. Today, we, the chosen of Valkur- the real Valkur that is- rule the city. It is a city of warriors. Where once a disparate band of mercenaries and makeshift bands guarded the streets, our legionaries of proper build watch over the coastal people's wealth allowing a proper trade be made in which both groups amass their deserved wealth.   The city of Alreivetur stands strong, under the guidance of a proper king of kings. All hail Valkur. And may anybody seeking strength come to the city of the warrior king and gain guidance in their life.   -Text from a poster found in many Destguard Barracks throughout the empire. It supposedly is the transcribed words of Almennt Betrison, a soldier stationed along the Elturguardian border, who would later become a general leading the soldiers there. Supposedly the text was transcribed by a Titan nobleman, who many claim, cleaned up the speech of the foul spoken soldier.

Demographics

Mostly humans and half elves. There are some dwarves, elves, tieflings, and half-orcs.

Government

This city was given to the Destroyer to run. He has held the city together with an iron fist and left his trusted advisor, Sterkur Jafi to keep it together while he leads troops in the war effort.

Defences

Reinforced stone walls surround the city as deterrents from the land, and many claim that similar deterrents exist from the sea, though noone has attempted an aquatic assault against the followers of Dreus as of yet. The city contains a heavy Destguard presence, churning out both the hands of the military forces as well as the Destguard.

Industry & Trade

This city remains mostly on a war economy with most of its trade being paid for by the Destguard in supplying items to the military. Other than that, trade occurs under private ownership, allowing people to trade amongst others in the city freely. This city also supplies the majority of weapons and Destguards to other locations in the empire.

Guilds and Factions

The Destguard train here as does the bulk of Dreus' military.   The Zhentarim and the Broker have their hands in many of the criminal guilds throughout the city. Although they seem to control different forces, it seems that this has not caused issue overall.   Some say that the Harpers have weaseled one or two agents into the city to dismantle the inner working of Dreus' center of warfare.   The Emerald Enclave takes care of many of the gardens and such here as well as preventing major cataclysms as those that happened in the past.
