Sanguine Sunrise #28: A Bloody Crossfire

General Summary

As the fight breaks out, the adventurers look around and ready to see what they're going to do in this circumstance. Everyone is a little confused by it as gunshots resound throughout the warehouse. In the meantime, Martyn polymorphs himself into a T-Rex, Rembrandt helps the First Archon escape, and then finally, the party decides they're taking these crimson cowards down. The Fanatics and the boat guards fight back, but the guards are burnt to a crisp by the arcane powers of the group. Things were secretly looking fairly grim for the group, but hearing a few slashes behind the crates, it seemed the followers of debauch had regained control of their own desires.   Martyn is badly hurt and falls into the water around the ship and enters conflict with Coren, who had also found himself there. Coren manages to defeat Martyn and return to the surface to fight guards that were pouring through. Then, the group turned to the fanatics who were pestering them. Herleva is slain in the fight, but Manfred makes it out. Then, as the group turns to finish off Rembrandt, they also manage to flee.   After this, the group flee from the warehouse themselves because their fight had lit the building aflame. Despite this, Kurt still pilfered some gems and a strange cube from the boxes while caught in the flame.   Despite the bruising and burning suffered by the group, they all managed to make it out of the warehouse together. Coren accepts what he can from the group, tells them that Martyn managed to turn himself into a fish and escape from their duel, and after a few more questions, leaves. Arborea on the other hand asks who she should go after. She feels she must find a trail and stop someone who managed to escape this conflict.   Then, Luthrin leads the group in asking the Artillerist about what happened here. She is in her odd way stating that "it was fun to make their bloody heads roll." From what could be picked up from her, it would seem that they were acting with creatures that seemed a threat to them, so they stopped them. However, there might be some underlying things missed behind the mask those followers of The Prince hide behind.   The party, saddened at their lack of information finding, people killing, and overall progress, head to an inn to find something to do. They wait a while trying to figure things out. Eventually, as they're staying there, they see a young boy enter. They see Terry. Terry talks to them, seems a little broken and very odd, and he tells them that he heard something about the Well at the Yawning Portal as he wants it to just all be over. Then, he leaves.   The group prepare themselves for whatever this adventurer might lead to. Kurt and Luthrin meet with Guy Wylde who notes the mention of his sister but seems to present his professional manner in deflecting any emotion as much as he had for anything else in past dealings with him. He speaks to them of what might help in the form of bandages, healing, and the sort. He finally gives them one last piece of advice. "No matter what they claim; no matter how hard they believe, their god is dead. It isn't there."   Ramori goes and seeks out materials. He runs into a strange woman at a shop that seems barren. A peculiar deal occurs where she presents Ramori a bejeweled drow skull, and then she too, is gone from the store.   Then, the group went to the Yawning Portal, spoke to Durnan, and descended down the rope into a strange cavernous area. As they moved, they saw the walls covered in mosaic that told a dual story.   In the beginning, the walls told the same tale. Creatures of elements, rising from chaos. Two figures, seemingly brothers come together. Then both go off. One begins collecting something that is almost indiscernible. The other gathers these strange chains and wraps them around himself. Then, the two figures meet again and clash blades. The one who gathered a strange material is cut into pieces: a head, the shoulders and arms, from below the shoulders to the legs, and the legs themselves. The one who gathered the chains now has a much smaller chain wrapped around his wrist.   Following the mural a little longer, one can see as a platinum dragon and some powerful seeming female figure slay that brother. In the other wall, it is revealed that the other brother had reformed.   Then, the group pass through a waterfall of blood. They look around the strange circular room, uncertain of what this area is. Then, they hear a growling.
