Session #5: D&D stands for Duelists and Dragons
General Summary
The party begins the session by destroying the nimblewright that was lying in the trash of the alley where they found it. It fought well, but it simply died, with no sense of self in its eyes. They searched its remains to find a map that was marked with an X in the dock ward that said, "Fenerus Stormcastle."
Istrid diguises herself as Jorn, a male dwarf while the rest of the group goes about as normal, being introduced to their new housemate. At the same time, Aila continues on her job.
Kuro visits the Book Wyrm's Treasure with Aila where he is give the Greatsword back by Rishaal the All-Seer. Kuro goes back with the item without hesitance.
The party visits the Temple of Gorn where they immediately use the 500 gp reward to pay off one of their debts and choose certain fun inventions to take with them. Each party member who was there received something of adequate usefulness.
After this, Jorn offers Luthrin a job to deliver a concoction from Skeemo Weirdbottle to a lady in a purple cloak. Luthrin does so quite easily, doing the final deal in a carriage, receiving 15 platinum pieces from the transaction.
At the same time, Kiwi is tasked with dealing with undead in the City of the Dead by aiding Sir Ambrose Everdawn. She arrives with some other party members, but they fail to provide aid to the knight clad in green.
Finally, Hope and Kuro are tasked by Blackstaff to find a dragon in Deepwater Harbor and learn of its intentions. They investigate the harbor with potions of Water Breathing and found the bronze dragon underneath. He asked for treasure and Kuro obliged before swimming away in fear. The dragon followed and spoke with the rest of the party waiting upon the docks while the people screamed in terror. Alex learned that the dragon was no threat, but the dragon still managed to convince Kuro to strip naked and give him his clothing.
In the end, the party goes to investigate this Fenerus Stormcastle location. They arrive where they meet three orphans named Nat, Jenks, and Squiddly who managed to successfully steal an apple cart. Each one of the children dresses as generic adventurers with Nat being a warrior leader who communicates with her companions through sign language, Jenks, the big bookish wizard, and Squiddly, the ranger who speaks for his friends.
Hope and Luthrin argue over the morality of orphans stealing in order to live, Luthrin arguing it is alright and Hope arguing that it is wrong. The argument eventually ends due to what is seemingly an indifferent stance on most subjects taken by Luthrin.
After this, the party investigates the Stormcastle Residence where they see it is tossed and the symbol of the Xanathar drawn in blood on the wall.
Kiwi and Hope start to walk away while Luthrin goes to investigate the nearby shop. He find it is a doll shop with a weird owner. He explains that Fenerus was taken away by the guards.
As Kiwi and Hope are walking away, they are approached by Lady Zolthos, the mouthpiece of the Debaucherous and her rulings. She is the person who issues all royal decrees and is the face of the Empire in Waterdeep. Lady Zolthos explains that it would seem that the Xanathar took the Stone of Golorr, a magical artifact that contains the key to a vault containing treasure place by an ex-member of the court of wellness, She tells the two women in front of her the location of a nearby Xanathar hideout before leaving,
