Session #7: Mock Trial
General Summary
The group travelled back home and due to Luthrin's street smarts, they managed to arrive at the manor before Kuro. They waited in the manor where they confronted Kuro upon his arrival. No blood was shed, but there was a very tense moment between Hope, Luthrin, and Kuro as they deciphered the madness that occurred.
After resolving their issues, the party went to the theater where Lady Zolthos told them to meet her. They travelled to the theater where they see that a whimsical comedy of a ship captain and a mistress is put on. There they meet Rongquan who says that he and his compatriot who sent them to the theater are working for their own gain, and he is willing to offer 10,000 gp of the vault of dragons to the party if they can secure it. He also tells them that Fenerus Stromcastle is being held in a nearby courthouse.
The party goes the the courthouse where they find an appointment to speak to Fenerus, but they must wait a day. Afterwards they meet with his, executioner, a northern woman who is very strict. She is guarded by a knight covered completely in armor who doesn't speak. Hester, the executioner eventually allows the party to speak to Fenerus.
After a long talk, Fenerus reveals he will only give the info of where the real stone of golorr is if he is set free. The party tells Hester this, and she tells them to send him to her court for a short conversation with him. The party watches as Hester asked Fenerus where the stone is and then dismissed him without letting him answer. She then nonchalantly told the party the location of the Stone, a run down tower that has a strange anti-magic field in the dock ward.
Afterwards the party returned to the manor to find a terrible thing had occured. The window had been shattered and inside was a small blood trail. At the end they found Jorn holding Aila, unconscious and with a makeshift bandage wrapped around her arm. She was shot by the drow killer that the party had imprisoned a month or so prior.
