As much as the royal guard works by itself, it relies on the divisions that are around for crowd control (especially the police).RECRUITMENT
recruitment pool-- The first option is signing up to become a soldier straight away. This is a three-year contract.
- The second option is people of the profession joining. Doctors, psychiatrists, cooks and other trained personnel join into their respective field. This is a five-year contract.
- the third option is joining the military academy from the age of four-teen to eight-teen and then becoming a soldier. This is a ten-year contract from the end of the academy.

I'm curious about signing up to be a soldier versus going to the military academy. What type of people sign up to soldiers without going to the academy? Is this primarily an age thing?
Age and contract are different. The acadamy is 14-18/19 years old with a ten year contract at the end as they are taught skills that benefit the Military. The first link in this article has more information
