Grund

Grund was born to a tribe in the northern realm of the Sword Coast. This was a tribe of nomad Goliaths that lived in the far reaches of the Sea of Moving Ice. He had barely entered his first year when a war broke out between the cruel Frost Giants that ruled the area and the benevolent Storm Giants that had noticed the transgressions of their kin. Grund was the only survivor from that battle and was found grunting with a dagger in hand stabbing the fallen corpse of a Frost Giants. Taken in and raised alongside the children of the Storm Giants General, Skorr Juton. Grund was rambunctious, strong, and sensitive of his stature, he would find himself in trouble on a regular basis. Though teased, he was accepted by the Jotun's children and was provided education and taught the basics of battle by his adopted family, Grund prospered. Eventually it was determined that Grund's talents would be better suited to the realm of Humans, elves and others of his kind. While on Expedition the kind General met the famed Pirate Valikor and his band of mercenaries. Offered gold and magic items to help finish Grund's training and development, Valikor accepted. After teaching Grund how to work on a ship and sail, he offered him a pick of training from any of the crew, including training him personally as an Eldritch Knight. While there were Swashbucklers, Monks, Rangers, and even Druid aboard, Grund felt a kinship to the Barbarian Raphaleo and his axe swinging fighting style. Though so very very very very old, Raph was able to help Grund understand the benefits of Rage and beauty of war. For many years they trained together and sailed with the Pirate Valikor all over the world. In one particular port he met and fell in love with the Glorious Goliath bard, Gloria. While Gloria found Grund impulsive, annoying, and disgusting at first, she eventually came to respect him as a warrior. While out on an excursion for supplies they were able to survive an Ambush laid by a horde of Goblins. Grund, though gravely injured was able to protect Gloria long enough for them to retreat to safety. Both grew more fond of each other over the coming weeks and engaged in contest of drinking, strength, and intense debates. After months of courtship and battles, they were able to track down the Goblins that had earlier tried to murder them and they were able to take out the entire party, not just the men but the women and children as well. With downtime over and the Pirate ship mystery being called to help with the Rifts that started appearing all over the world, as well as Gloria being chosen by her Tribe as their representative to look into these rifts, Grund and Gloria decided to travel together to investigate theses mysterious happenings. Married by the Pirate Valikor on the Bridge of the Pirate Ship Mystery, they travel together, seeking to help those unable to help themselves.
