Tofasiye is a mythical beast that originates from a small region of Vulgo, but was later incorporated into the Arat Mapuya-Morrek as a servant of Nacuja-Yichat.

Tofasiye in Arat Mapuya-Morrek

When the religion of the Arat Mapuya-Morrek became multi-species and multi-cultural, it began to assimilate - and in most cases also transform - the local religious customs, traditions, and even myths of the different regions it reached. This both easened the transition over to the new religion as well as preserved a level of comforting familiarity.   Much of the rich mythical fauna and flora existing in Vulgo's many cultures were incorporated as natural pieces of the cosmology of Arat Mapuya-Morrek. This included the Tofasije, though it became more commonly known under its similar name in Luy-Qianakun: Tofasiye.   In Arat Mapuya-Morrek, Tofasiye is a servant of Nacuja-Yichat that was created by mixing their own flesh with the entropy beyond the edge of the universe. It remained annelidan in shape, with a large circular mouth. It was similarly hollow on the inside, but had circles of razor teeth at even spacing, with a circle of small round eyes between each row. It flies through the night in an erratic manner, carried by numerous small, feathered wings haphazardly sprouting from all over its body.   Each night, Tofasiye is sent from the Liquid Night to collect dreams and memories from the living. A victim of Tofasiye will not remember their dreams, and might even suffer memory loss, amnesia or even become comatose.

The Jashajwej Tofasije

The original myths hails from the peninsula of Jashajwej, located on the northern continent Iwisshmi on Vulgo.   In these myths, the tofasije is a species of water-dwelling annelidan. They have long, tubular bodies segmented into rings, with a gaping hole in one end. Inside of the hole is a line of razor teeth spiraling down into the darkness inside it.   They crawl out of the water during the night to feed on dreams. It'd choose one victim each night, and feed on it for as long as they remained asleep. If one slept for too long, it could eat your memories and thoughts too. For every creature it managed to feed from, its body grew a new ring. And each ring had the same amount of eyes as the creature they fed from, blankly staring into nothingness.
