King Turin Starline

King Turin Starline, of Eldenstar

Early Life

Born in Eldenstar west of the trees, in the year 1832 of the 3rd age by the name of Teldor, they were a surrogate child of Lords Gelor and Cirdan Starline. They spent much of there yough reading and playing at war and discovered a love for map making, gaining a desire to one day travel across the Seal. When the time came for there to come into their own, they elected to go by he/him pronouns and he took the name Turin, meaning guardian.

Career

It was then that he joined the Knights Eldar a position his noble blood allowed him to take and rose quickly through the ranks spending much of his early career in Nochi, Helden and his homeland. During the war of death Turin fought in the defence and retaking of El-Mistif alongside his fathers who sadly died during a skirmish in the lower city. With little time to mourn his parents passing Turin fought on and was promoted to Captain after the battle of the rose fields. Turin also won battle honours in the battle of oldsaints crossing and the battle of Helden in which he was given the Eternal medal of Valour. Although his unit was deployed to Riftdawn at the time of the Crescentine uprising Turin was on leave at his sister’s wedding, as such guilt at having “abandoned” his comrades overtook him and the young general requested to lead a detachment of knights across the seal to sniff out any Cult activity, it was that which lead him to Briar woods in 360 where he halted a cult insurgence before it had time to take legs, for this he was promoted to General staying in the briar woods where he would marry Selvane Lanariel, a member of there nobility.

Assension

In 4A 373 Turin was ceremonious discharged from the Knights Eldar and was appointed as the ambassador to the western kingdoms, it is theorised this he did this so he could settle down and raise a family having there first and daughter Telhadriin 4A 397. During this time he became good friends with King Wilbur II who said of him "here is a man who embodys the heart and soul of the Union, should the need arise I would acompany him to the end.", during the 26 years he was posted out west he managed to make the relations between Nochi, Idria, Riftdawn and Donsteed better then they had been in centurys. In 4A 399, two years after the birth of Telhadri, the Kivox disaster struck and Turin was one of many who plead to the king to send military aid but, as is well documented, those cries fell on death ears and with the complete faliure of the Crown Union to act in deffence of its people, the declaration of Kivox was issued and the Kivox war began.

Turin was reenlisted, commissioned as the Marshal of the Western Armies but despite initial success Turin failed the conquest of Nochi and when the Siege of Nagana was broken he was forced to set his sights south to Donsteed. Well documented is the bloodthirsty success of operation racehorse and the sacking of Anglesteed in the decay of 5A 3 yet our research showed that the so called “massacre” was necessary to crush the hearts of the Steedsmen. This success and his familiarity with the rebellious kingdoms is believed to be the primary reason why, in 5A 6 when King Alfarion was slain in the battle of the Rosefeilds Eldenclaw apointed Turin to the Throne.

After a rushed corrination, with the war ground to a halt Turin sent an envoy to King Wilbur his former friend and opend negotiations for a end to the hostilitys. Together they aranged a peace summit in Kivox and in 5A 7 he made his first trip abroad as King, to put an end to the Kivox war, these negotiations were sucsesful but not favourable for the Union and Turin began his reign on the back foot.
