Shop Owner

Shop owners in Duskwall are constantly trying to make enough money to pay their rent to the noble that owns their store, taxes to the tax collectors, protection money to whatever gang controls their territory, and the exorbitant prices for materials that their suppliers raise to keep up themselves. Whatever they might sell, more than half the price goes right out the door.
Prestige: The shop owners that survive in the neighborhoods of The Dusk beome institutions and are well respected, even by the gangs that they pay up to.
Accoutrement: Shop owners will have their shops and their wares. They will often also have a safe with their earnings. Most know better than to try for the safe. Even if the shopkeeper were foolish enough to keep money in there, it likely wouldn't be much.
Training: Shop owners primarily need something to sell. Beyond that, a head for numbers and an eye for trouble help out a lot.
