Okva

The Mother of All (a.k.a. The Loving One, The Caretaker)

During these troubled times Okva is one of the most prayed upon members of The Pillars of All pantheon among the population who still accepts the old deities.   She is the one who created all life as we know it. After creating all living beings she gave the task of watching over them to Fir, the Great Wolf.   Just like the rest of her family, she lives in the realm of Drømmeverden.   At her side are the two first creatures she created; Deyja and Omir. They are said to be shapeshifting beings that can take any form they desire. Most often they take the appearance of two abnormally large cat like creatures.

Divine Domains

Her domains include
  • Compassion and equality
  • Emotions and mercy
  • Pleasure and food
  • Life and death
  • Pleasure and pain
Okva is the deity of pleasure and pain. While Afnir forged the world we live in, Okva moulded every single living being into existence. Mothers who still worship the old gods all across the realm call for Okva's aid when their sons go to war.   When she created living beings to inhabit the world she did not want them to be simple worshippers of The Pillars of All, so she gave them free will. This unintentionally gave room for suffering, pain, and death to enter the mortal world. Because of this Okva is also seen as the creator of suffering and pain.    Through visions she has sent to her followers Okva has revealed that although she does not wish pain upon mortal beings, it is an integral part of life. She uses her powers to aid those who follow her and give them guidance.

Holy Books & Codes

Just like the other members of The Pillars of All pantheon, Okva has not given mankind a set of instructions on how to act. Her communication comes through while praying when in severe pain or distress.   When prayed upon she sends messages of hope and of a better tomorrow. Because of her comforting nature Okva and her devoted followers; The Oracles are seen as the healers of this fractured world.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The most common symbols of Okva in art are antlers and stars. They symbolize her connection to nature, but still being above us all in Drømmeverden.   The Oracles have used a sigil depicting both of these themes for over a thousand years.

Tenets of Faith

The key principles that members of The Oracles and others devoted to Okva hold to are
  • The deisre to help others
  • Treating everyone equally
  • The preservation and guarding of life
This form of thinking is what links all those who worship Okva.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

The goal of Okva is to preserve and take care of all living beings. Although she created both pleaseure and pain she prefers that mortal creautures would have to indure the least amount of pain during their lives.
