Ardmont
The capital city of the Smoking Haven rests largely in Lake Stone at the foot of the Smoldering Mountain. The castle of the God Empress is carved into this mountain and over looks the city below. Rather then streets much Ardmont is connected by the lake. Boats serve as the only reliable way through this part of the city. As the largest city in the Smoking Haven Ardmont also serves as the center of religious and military power; being home to both the Grand Temple to the God Empress and the main military training base.
Lake Stone is perfectly reflective and serves as the cities main defense. Any living creature that enters its waters turned to stone mire minuets afterwards. None but the Gods can swim in its waters unscathed and fish do not appear in the river waters flowing from it for several miles around the lake. Many nobles build further and further into the lake to try and be closer to the God Empress; these houses have collapsed into the lake as a result of weak foundations, however. Nobles often have insurance plans in these cases that allow for their retrieval and revival.

Demographics
The city of Ardmont is made up only of those races deemed as clean by the Council of Smoke. In the forests surrounding the city small settlements of the unclean races can be found but they are often sought out and destroyed by Inquisitors or the city's gard.
Government
Ardmont serves as the seat of power for the Council of Smoke who site in court in a large building near the center of the lake. The city is purported to be under the direct rule of the God Empress but she spends much of her time secluded in her castle and lets the Council run the city and the Smoking Haven as they see fit.
Infrastructure
As the largest city in the Smoking Haven, there is almost nothing that cannot be found in Ardmont. It is the main seat for the Mages Guild the the center of political and military power for all of the God Empress's domicile.
