A goblin massacre? Report

General Summary

Barely was the guard house recaptured before another group of hobgoblins and goblins stood at the door, but a short moment later they were sent to their god, whoever that may be. Surprisingly, they were followed by a group of dwarfs and Balbus, whom Ekemon had not seen in a long time. He was happy to see friends alive in the midst of all that death. But there was no time for a big reunion, they had to continue into the dwarf fortress before the goblins had time to arrange their defense.
They continued up the stairs, once again greeted by a group of goblins led by a hobgoblin. One fight took the other, while the group pressed hard further and further. There was no time for rest.
It all became a bit of a fog for Ekemon, countless moments and places, goblins and hobgoblins, a single bugbear or two, magic in the air, blood and cries. There was no time to consider the consequences or justice of their actions.
By sunset they had cleared the entire fortress. Ekemon was exhausted. Never had he seen so much destruction. Never had he used so much magic and had never seen so much death. The sight and smell of a goblin being chopped in the middle, losing its guts or being burned by lightning would take time to forget. But never had he felt so much alive! In his time studying, he had mostly read books and perhaps cast minor insignificant magic, but now... Although the effect of the new powers was slightly disturbing and gave food for thought, he could not deny that the feeling it gave when magic flowed through the body was amazing and maybe a bit addictive ...
