Spire, Tempest's Heirloom (Relic)
Saint Eliada the Storm is said to have ridden into battle on a winged horse, wielding a gilded javelin that could call down thunderbolts from the heavens. This weapon, Spire, was crafted in the heart of a volcano, forged from the steel skin of a flayed celestial. Its core is the soul of a powerful elemental spirit that was captured by Heracles and subdued by Eliada.
Possessing a mind of its own, Spire is often portrayed as a voice of reason to Eliada, who is famous for his impulsive tendencies. One notable exception to Spire's calm demeanor is in its dealing with giants, for which Spire and Eliada share a powerful hatred. On Eliada's excursion into the elemental lands, Spire lends its vast knowledge of the workings of the primordial realm to Eliada's use, allowing him to avoid several situations that could have proven deadly for the warrior.
Powers
According to the tales, Spire has many capabilities; famously, Eliada would hurl the spear at his enemies, who would then be struck by a bolt of lightning from above. Similarly, Spire is able to launch bolts of lightning from the point of its blade, burning foes to ashes. Some stories claim it also granted Eliada the power of flight, though in others he specifically laments that he cannot fly from one place to another.
Significance
As the holy weapon of a major saint, Spire holds great religious significance to the The Akregian Church of Dragons. All official accounts state that Eliada still wields the javelin in his saintly form.
