Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Gnoll. You can also understand but not speak, read or write Abyssal. Gnollish is a language that sounds like growls, giggles, yells, laughs, whoops and whines, the intonations and duration of these sounds affecting the meanings. The grammar and vocabulary is concise and imperial, as necessitated by their war-mongering lifestyles of issuing clear and effective commands to each other in the heat of battle, and its writing is hieroglyphic. When speaking Common, some Gnolls often sound imperious and brusque.
