Greneburg Mountains

At the end of the Third Goblin War in 588 AS., the Ælneans pushed the goblins back into this mountain range, and many thought the goblins had fled beyond the mountains. Following this, the Ælneans set up several forts in the Green Hills to survey the activities of the goblins lurking within the mountains. A few surface roads lead through the mountains, which are regularly patrolled by soldiers. In the last 50 years, the number of Ælnean troops stationed along the Greenburg Mountains has lowered due to a decrease of activity among the goblinoid denizens of the rocky slopes.

Geography

The Greenoburg Mountains lie west of the Blainberry Forest. Many small tributaries flow down from the mountains into the forest where they join into the Lanbelt River. The slopes of the mountain are rocky, with towering summits. The hill lands immediately east of the mountains, the Green Hills, are covered in woods. There are many cave entrances throughout the mountain range, some natural while many are mine shaft openings. Many of these mines have been exhausted by the Ælneans and therefore abandoned, but there are rumors abound the goblins use these former mines as nests and bases.

Fauna & Flora

Goblins make their nests in the caves of these mountains. In fact, the goblin infestation of these rocky peaks is the reason behind the name of Greenburg--Boroughs of the Greenskinned goblins. The goblins here do not venture far from the mountains, limiting the extent of their surface operations to the foot hills during the night.
