Astral Piston

An astral piston is an outdated mechanical piston used by infernal warmachines and other mechanical contraptions in Avernus before more energy effective sources were discovered.
Astral pistons work by having the moving piston be shunted in and out of the Astral Sea to reduce friction. However, these pistons are prone to overheating due to the amount of energy needed for their transplanar operation.
