Infernal Warmachine

An infernal warmachine is a generic term given to any vehicles of metal powered by soul coins or the lifeforce of mortals. They are typically wheeled vehicles that carry small crews and are favored traveling devices for the various factions traveling the Nine Hells.   Examples of infernal warmachines include:
  • Devil's Ride: a two-wheeled motorbike that can be fitted with a sidecar attachment. Generally lightly armored and ridden by only one or two individuals
  • Tormentor: a dune buggy shaped vehicle that seats about six. Speedy and traditionally fitted with a harpoon attachment in the back
  • Scavenger: a bulky war machine built with a massive claw in the front used to haul other warmachines, debris, or cargo
  • Demon Grinder: a massive armored vehicle and a staple of the Blood Legions. Named for the large grinder in the front.
Vehicles that required more than a single soul coin to operate, such as the behemoth Avernian flying fortresses, are not classified as warmachines.

Power Generation

There are two typical ways to power an infernal warmachine.   The first is the use of an infused soul coin. The engine of the warmachine will drain the soul coin, giving the vehicle 24 hours of active use. This method is favored by the armies of Hell   Alternatively, a warmachine can be modified to allow a living, mortal creature to sacrifice some of their life force to keep the warmachine running for an active 24 hours. Doing so leaves the mortal creature weakened, though they will recover with enough rest and time.

Propulsion

Infernal warmachines were all driven from a helm, which contained a variety of levers, pedals, handles, and a steering mechanism. Though occasionally the driver of a warmachine had access to weaponry, the complicated task of operating such a vehicle generally occupied the driver's full attention.

Weapons & Armament

Infernal warmachines are favored by devils, adventurers, and warlords alike for their customizability. Weapons, armor, engines and more were often swapped as needs arose, leaving no two warmachines in active use exactly alike.   Well known alternative weapons include acidic bile-sprayers, flamethrowers, and infernal screamers.
