Dragonmoots

A Dragonmoot was a traditional dwarven ritual that involving clans gathering together their strongest warriors to hunt dragons. By the late 1400's, dragonmoots were rarely called.

History

Dragonmoots were created by ancient dwarves as a way to fend off the dragons that often raided their strongholds for treasure. To keep the beasts at bay, dwarves would send their strongest warriors to engage dragons in their lairs in the hopes of killing it and taking its hoard.   After a few hundred years, dragonmoots stopped being about defending a stronghold and became more of a status symbol and source of pride. This change in attitude resulted in a few dragonmoots being called for metallic dragons, creatures that are almost universally good. One such metallic dragon victim was the niece of the silver dragon Otaarlyiakkarnos.
