Feast of Corruption

The Feast of Corruption is a dangerous and forbidden ritual known by very few that great empowers the maturation rate of any creature placed inside of it by feeding on negative sentiment, such as sorrow, fear, and despair.

Effect

When a creature is placed within the radius of the Feast of Corruption's sigil, it's maturation rate is greatly increased proportional to the amount of fear, sorrow, and despair within a generally limited radius, no wider than that of a city or town. However, while the creature physically ages faster, its mental development often lags behind.   During the Banesmark Crisis, the aboleth S'gothgah S'gothgah greatly expanded the range of the spell to reach most of the Sword Coast North from its location in the Styes, at the cost of less efficiently processing negative emotion.

Discovery

The Feast of Corruption was created and designed by a wizard centuries ago who wished to accelerate the growth of a red dragon under his control. However, the red dragon incenerated the wizard upon it reaching adulthood, lashing out as a child would.   Following the wizard's death, information of the Feast of Corruption was kept hidden in the dusty recesses of various libraries.   In 1494, the aboleth S'gothgah learned of the Feast of Corruption from the library of the Twilight Monastery and subsequently made adjustments to it to range of the ritual to encapsulate nearly the entire Sword Coast North from its placement in the the Styes. However, the adjustments made by the aboleth are, so far as most are aware, only known by S'gothgah.
