Galin
Warden Galin
Galin was the Warden of Altand, who conspired with the Cult of the Dragon to save his own village. After his crimes were discovered by the Breadwinners, he was executed by Prince Alagarthas.
History
In early 1492, the green dragon Chuth, guided secretly by the Green Wyrmspeaker Neronvain, began raiding villages in the Misty Forest. When the dragon arrived in Altand, Neronvain offered to spare the village if Galin regularly supplied information on how best to destroy nearby villages. Galin, heartbroken after watching his wife die to the dragon, agreed. For the next few months, Galin would regularly supply Neronvain with information pertaining to the best times to strike a village or how to get past their defenses. In mid-1492, the Breadwinners arrived in Altand at the behest of Prince Alagarthas, who wanted to know why this one village had survived an attack while others had not. The adventurers instantly found Galin to be suspicious and Legolass Darkblade, using her alias of Pandora Jones, pretended to be a member of the Cult of the Dragon and tricked Galin into revealing his betrayal. Galin, worried about the group's questioning, demanded they leave Altand the next morning, which they did without complaint, as they were now determined to put a stop to Neronvain's raids. Later that year, Alagarthas arrived in Altand, having left Waterdeep the moment he heard of Galin's crime. Before the people of the town, Galin's crimes were announced and he was executed for treason.
