Prince Alagarthas
Prince Alagarthas is the son of King Melandrach and the heir to the Kingdom of the Woods.
History
Alagarthas was born the eldest child to King Melandrach. Growing up, Alagarthas was the favored child of his father, who had to deal with the often quarrelsome younger child, Neronvain, who took issue with his father's cautious approach to governance. These disputes grew more and more heated over time until Neronvain was expelled from the Kingdom of the Woods and presumed dead. In 1492, Alagarthas accompanied his father to the Council of Waterdeep as representatives of their kingdom. While there, Alagarthas heard stories of a dragon attacking villages in the Misty Forest and asked the Breadwinners to investigate. When the Breadwinners returned from the Misty Forest, they revealed to Alagarthas and Melandrach that the one behind the attacks was actually Neronvain, who had joined the Cult of the Dragon. The Breadwinners also revealed that Galin, the warden of Altand, had betrayed his people to the cult. Alagarthas was heartbroken, but thanked the adventurers. He then returned to the Misty Forest, where he personally oversaw Galin's execution. Alagarthas accompanied the Council of Waterdeep's armies during the march towards the Well of Dragons. During the Battle at the Well of Dragons, Alagarthas accompanied the Breadwinners into the Well of Dragons to protect the adventurers while they disrupted the ritual to summon Tiamat. Alagarthas suffered heavy wounds, but emerged from the battle alive.
