Samiya Ikraam Samina Karim is a powerful efreeta Tajir of the fifth Martaba from the City of Brass.
In 1496, Tajir Karim discovered that an old brass door portal to the Material Plane had been reopened, exiting into the Saltmarsh Mine. Karim traveled through the portal with a salamander warrior-slave, intent on discovering where the portal opened and how she could leverage that to her advantage.
When the Heroes of Saltmarsh arrived and killed her slave, Karim negotiated a deal with the adventurers. Karim would keep the portal to the Plane of Fire closed and in exchange would receive 15% of all the silver in the mine. The Heroes of Saltmarsh accepted, and Karim stayed true to her word, profiting greatly.
