Vianola Phidi

Vianola Phidi is a human woman that lives in Baldur's Gate and a friend of Alesine Zadava.

History

Vianola was not born in Baldur's Gate, but moved there as a young adult in order to gain more access to places of research and study, renting a place in Seatower in the Lower City.   In the early 1490s, Vianola met Nalansmyrt Thistlecrag, a young gnome that had recently left the cult of Dispater his family had raised him in. Through Nalansmyrt, Vianola also met Jondrotir Forehelm, a dwarven Baldurian, and the three of them became fast friends. A few years later, Nalansmyrt reconnected with a half-elf childhood friend of his, Alesine Iliric, who had left the same cult he was a part of, and she was folded into the group. To save on costs, Alesine and Vianola began sharing the apartment she rented in Seatower, which became an unofficial hang out spot for the group.   Alesine and Nalansmyrt's history with the cult of Dispater inspired the group to begin digging into the corruption of Baldur's Gate, attempting to uncover what they could and leak it to the authorities. The friends has some successes for a time and treated their work a bit like a game, until a too close encounter with the dark underworld of Baldur's Gate convinced them to stop.   However, following the Damnation of Elturel in 1497 and the political turmoil caused by Grand Duke Ulder Ravengard's presumed death, Alesine, now working as an adventurer with the Lost Star Detectives, gathered Vianola and the others back together to help her look into and stop the Baldurian cults of Zariel and the Dead Three.   Though Alesine and the other Detectives left Baldur's Gate in Eleasis of that year, Vianola and Jondrotir continued to help Nalansmyrt, who had a fire lit under him to keep helping people in need, with information gathering.   After Elturel's salvation in early 1498, Alesine returned to Baldur's Gate to see her friends and bid them goodbye. As a result of her adventures, Alesine had been transformed from a mortal to a solar, and she knew she couldn't remain in Baldur's Gate with that amount of power. Though sad to see her go, Vianola and the others wished her well.
