Dagult Neverember
Dagult Neverember is a figure of some controversy, of whom opinions wildly differ across the Sword Coast. As Lord Protector of Neverwinter (and claiming to be a descendant of the otherwise extinct Algondar Royal Family), he did much in rebuilding that proud city, pushing back the Orc invaders and ensuring security, many hailed him as a saviour, but his attention soon turned towards Waterdeep. He became the Open Lord of Waterdeep in 1479, where his political acumen and keen mind for diplomacy lead to a time of unrivalled prosperity for the City of Splendours. Over his tenure however he would spend more and more time either back in Neverwinter or out on some other business, and Waterdhavians began to feel neglected by their absent leader. In 1489, Dagult was voted out by the Masked Lords, and replaced by Laeral Silverhand.
Dagult retreated back to Neverwinter, and although remained friendly to Waterdeep to the benefit of the Lord's Alliance, it's no secret that privately he harboured much resentment.
Dagult has a son, Renaer Neverember, who still lives in Waterdeep. Their relationship is said to be strained.
