United Traditionalists Federation

The United Traditionalists Federation (UTF) sounds like a political club for older folks with delusions of grandeur and a rose tinted view of the past. In reality, they were the single greatest threat the collective systems have faced to date.

Structure

The UTF was a highly stratified, top down organization that stressed the authority of a member's superiors. Each member knew their rank in the organization, and in the society it maintained.

Culture

Extreme conservatism, deep into the realm of fascism. The UTF believed that humans were the superior species in the Terran collective, as it was humans who created the processes that create nhuma, built the synthroids, and uplifted the zoanids. Therefore those species were inferior and their proper place was as servants and slaves to their betters. They also believed in eugenics, and actively "purified" their own population of people with any perceived genetic issues. These practices, combined with archaic belief in the worthiness of capitalism and firm ideology around gender identity, roles, and allowable sexuality, their beliefs placed them in opposition to the largely progressive systems. The UTF viewed the progressive populations of the systems as deviants and degenerates who were only valuable as labour. They had a strong persecution complex and believed that because they could not inflict their ideology on others legally, that they were in fact the victims of the UNS and others.
Recovered data about their civilian world showed stark differences between the different ranks of citizens, all overlaid with a powerful and pervasive propaganda campaign firmly aimed at the lower socioeconomic ranks. Academics specializing in history identified much of what was captured on video and in pics as a mash-up of pre-Terran Earth motifs, cultural practices, and architectural inspirations.

Public Agenda

The UTF's agenda was straight forward: "Return to our roots! Restore what was lost! Remain true to the ways!"
In short, their very public and constant aim was to return to a theoretical, non-existent point in the past that was "perfect". There were only men and women, everyone was straight, industry was free to operates, and lesser peoples were servants and slaves. To achieve that, all Federats must work together under the divinely and scientifically inspired leadership of the President and the High Senate.

History

What follows has been pieced together by academics working for the UNS, based on salvaged records and data.
In approximately 12655 HE, a cabal of socially conservative pro-capitalists organized a meeting on Perun IV, where they created the basic ideology of the UTF. The full details are unavailable, but they appear to have convinced a number of others that their plan had merit, allowing them to built a covert hyperspace gate in the system linking them to an unknown system with inhabitable worlds. For the next few decades, they actively recruited like minded individuals and transported them to this system. It's believed this was possible because the ultra-rich financiers of the operation effectively falsified over a hundred thousand documents and maintained false "lives" for the recruits in the Perun System until the Oppen Station Indecent, where an O'Neill cylinder was destroyed by a rogue asteroid. This is now recognized as a terrorist act, as it was engineered to cover their tracks. The covert gate was secured shortly afterwards by stay behind members.
Once out from under the eyes of the UNS, the UTF swiftly colonized at least two planets and three moons, and things rapidly escalated. Breeding programs were established, eugenics was normalized, and the higher members realized that without the target of the UNS' "degenerate" members in clear sight, that the people may turn on them. Thus began a campaign of using news and social media recordings to "maintain the hate". And for hundreds of years, it worked. The war against the systems was initiated because after generations of still ongoing brainwashing and propaganda, the goal shifted from securing their own place in the universe to their lives "correctly" to invading and subjugating the other systems in an effort to "correct" their cultures and civilizations.
True preparation for the war only started about 20 years prior to its commencement. For all their bluster, the industrial sector of the UTF worlds was a disorganized and inefficient mess that was barely able to meet the needs of the population, never mind prepare for the losses possible in a war. In the meantime, to placate the population and the increasingly aggressive military, the UTF began a campaign of terrorism, recruitment, and intelligence gathering on the other systems. A number of incidents previously unattributed to any organizations have now been pinned firmly on the UTF during this era.
Fortunately for the systems, the UTF had many biases that coloured their thinking and perception of the UNS and the Terran civilizations in the systems. When they launched their attack with the newly built Returner Fleet, they expected a knockout blow from which the weak, corrupt, and feeble (in their minds) UNS would immediately call for peace talks. they did not expect a prolonged conflict, and once Venus and Earth were back online to fight, they knew that they had no chance. So they rolled out their doomsday weapons. The lithospheric weapon is still not fully understood, but it's believed that it was a up-sized mining laser that somehow used the atmosphere as a lens; and the nova bombs were works of physics genius, the size of a small shuttle, if built and detonated correctly, they created a microscopic(compared to a real star) star that immediately went into a super nova.
The end of the war is believed to have been the end of the UTF as well. They suffered truly unsustainable casualties during the conflict, and Perun System was one of the systems annihilated by the use of a nova bomb with the hyperspace system. It's thought that their covert gate was open and channelled the effects to their unknown home system. This is based on an unexpected nova event that occurred afterwards.

Disbandment

The UTF was defeated on the field, but its intelligence and terrorism networks survived and evolved into the Remnant Front Organization (RFO), which remains a threat to peoples' safety and stability into the modern day.
