Poisoneater
A demonic beast that roams the grasslands of the Demon Realm.
Basic Information
Anatomy
A bipedal feline with tufted ears and a bobtail. Their front paws have two opposed digits, adapted for climbing. They are able to rotate their heads almost entirely around.
Genetics and Reproduction
Poisoneaters reproduce sexually, with a gestation period of two years. They typically give birth to kindle of three-four young at a time.
Growth Rate & Stages
Poisoneaters reach sexual maturity at seven years of age.
Ecology and Habitats
Poisoneaters typically make homes in Rocking Trees, able to move their heads and ears in such a way that the Lullaby Moss does not affect their sense of balance.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Poisoneaters subsist off of two food sources - Lullaby Moss and Ringed Grassleapers. They hunt grassleapers during the day, sleeping in the trees at night. They are specially adapted to be unharmed by the poison of their staple prey.
Behaviour
Poisoneaters are ambush predators, typically finding an area to remain still and wait for prey. They rush with a burst of energy before bringing their prey back to their tree homes for a meal in safety. They will not typically go after prey larger than themselves, and are extremely lethargic at night.

Social Structure
While poisoneaters will often share a host tree with three or four fellows, they are solitary hunters and do not form strong social bonds with their treemates.
Domestication
Domesticated poisoneaters are kept as pets, usually in areas where they are able to catch pests for their owners. Domesticated poisoneaters tend to have only one opposable digit on their front paws, and have been bred to have longer tails. They are less lethargic at night than their wild counterparts as well.
Uses, Products & Exploitation
Poisoneater stomach acids can be distilled into potent general antivenom, though is used better as a preventative measure than treatment.
