The Wandering Lantern
A divine lantern believed to be created by Porscil, God of Travelers.
It takes the appearance of a bee, it's thorax a gated hallow with a divine fire that changes color inside. The Lantern is said to float ever just out of reach of the person it guides - but those within its light also feel a comforting warmth.
History
While the lantern is attributed to Porscil, it is impossible to know if it was truly he that created it - as he has never claimed credit for it. It is also believed Mahen might have crafted it - or that the pair worked together to make it as it combines their domains.
True origins aside, the Wandering Lantern is said to appear to those lost while on a long journey - particularly, if the journey is to an unknown location. The most famous appearance of the lanern was to the man who would found Coujieul, the Crossriver City where the Great Temple to Porscil now sits. He was a man searching for a home after his own was lost, and became lost himself in the wilderness.
Various other accounts all seem to share a similarity to the first story - wanderers seeking a place or object they do not know the physical location of, being guided to the right place by the Lantern. However, like Porscil's penchant for trickery, the answer in the location is not always obvious at first.
Despite it's unclear origin, it mostly remains in the Great Temple to Porscil in Coujieul - leaving as it pleases and returning when its finished with whatever purpose drew it away.
