Salzinwvn

Largest city and capital of the territories of the Cathedrania. This capital keeps close to the borders of others in order to have good trade and relations with the other factions of Tydland. It is rumored that the true power behind the Salzinwvn, is Catherdrani Keep to the South.   This town in Cathedrania, current township's mayor is Zeke Vladimire. It is predominantly a religious and trade city with several districts one of which is focused the most on this religious sector. Due to this though it has avoided any religious problems by adhering to the laws where, public preaching is not allowed except within temple property, any violator will be given one warning, before they are taken to the cells of the city and processed to be kicked out of their church, which is seen as a great disgrace and well avoided by members.   This is not the only thing though as the city's biggest focus is with trading as they receive most of the imports from the nearby mines and the carts coming from the Cathedrani Keep. Most of the Republic's rarer materials come actually from this mountains nearby and due to this focus it requires much stronger inhabitants, which is why when entering this city it can be seen that alot of them are either demi-monsters or if not then they seem quite strong or are religious leaders or workers.   The inhabitants of Salzinwvn are generally rugged and stern. Many wear patchwork furs and have unkempt hair. The pious and working lifestyles and brutal environment of the region make for hard living.   The city itself is also defended by walls that have also been made to defend its interests.

Demographics

The town of Salzinwvn composed half of the humanoid denizens of the region and the other half is composed of mostly demi-monsters. You will see creatures like Minotaurs, goblins, Bugbears, Orcs, Goliaths, and hidden here are a large clan of those who carry lycanthropy who make up 20% of the city. While there are still other races there are definitely more demi-monsters than them.

Government

The city of Salzinwvn is governed by a Mayor who speaks on behalf of the von Carstein's interest to when it comes to trading with other factions. Zeke Valdimire is the mayor in charge of Salzinwvn and rules the city, hes a more laid back mayor with the sarcasm to match. That doesn't mean he's lazy though he just acts like a History teacher who knows his job can be done easier by just being as over-friendly as he wants. He also follows the rules of the Republic to the letter. The laws and courts stay the same, as well as taxation as money was never a huge issue with this kingdom, the only thing that is touchy with this city is that due to the abandoned temple here, religion is quite big in this city, especially since Cathedrania is not. While the city is full of workers, most are also following some type of religion and seem to follow it while still following the law of the Republic to not preach it in public areas.

Defences

The city is defended by stone walls that are built around it. These walls hold watchtowers are meant to keep an eye out on the lands and forests for any dangers to the Republic itself.

Industry & Trade

The most obvious would be the minerals taken from the region itself that are traded throughout the cities of the Republic, mostly with Cathedrani Keep. However Salzinwvn is the main location for diplomatic negotiations.

Districts

City Hall: The hall itself is built at the top of a large hill overlooking the rest of the city. It is not too large remaining to be more humble and a place of gathering for the local government. Housing meetings for the mayor, and the leaders of the town such as those that are in charge of the mining aspects, transportation of supplies, smelting, and the religious zones even.   Drakenhof Pass: This is the trading district that is essentially the miner's district, this is where most of the ore trading and mine hiring occurs. Most of these buildings lie here, purposely built far away from any residential areas as to not allow anyone to live uncomfortable in the city as per the mayor's orders.   The Stair: Aptly named, this is where the elevation of the city begins as it starts rising up into the hill. Most of the residential homes are here, meant to house those that would live in this city and work its mines. Due to Salzinwvn uniqueness there are no buildings here that are more grandiose and meant for nobles as they would not live in this city. Also since most who live here are good at building most of the homes hewn into the mountain are made and expanded by the individuals and their families.   Snowyard: Closer to the walls of the city is where lies all of the tourist areas, as the city since it is known for its view and also religious attraction, Zeke has made it easier for the travelers here to become comfortable with all that Salzinwvn has to offer, including a few temples here as well that can be found amongst the recreational buildings. This also gets its name for being the location where most of the snow seems to like to fall from the mountain during the winters.   Founder's Borough: This is the market area of the city, as with most towns needing a market district this is no different. What is though is that this is where also most of the temples for the different religions of the city can be located with one large abandoned and the famed temple of the Raven Queen goddess of the dead, seeming abandoned due to the nature of most of the civilians of the Kingdom.

Assets

This city has quite the store of minerals and rare metals all meant to be outbound for the factions that wish to trade for them or being smelted into the weapons. Due to this the city has quite a large contingency of military forces protecting one of the most important locations in the Republic.

Guilds and Factions

There are not many here except of the religious leaders of each god as well an office for the Shifting Tides made here in order to keep negotiations peaceful with the power of the lands.

History

The city itself has an interesting history as when it was made it seemed that there was already a remnant of a village there, a werewolf clan had actually originally settled the area, and when the people of Cathedrani Keep discovered them, there was quite a tension at first. Over time though the Lady and Lord at the time saw no use in creating yet another enemy and asked the Werewolf clan if they can have peace, and through tense negotiations they did, with the people of the Republic of Cathedrania showing them tools, and technology to help. And so the village of Salzinwvn was born.   Long ago after the discovery of the rich ores in the mountains, it was decided this would be the capital to provide relations and trade with the other factions.   The werewolves too, after so long being in a tense relation with the denizen have now power in the Republic, as can be seen in the mayor's wife who rules alongside him.

Tourism

The city itself sees alot of travelers that wish to purchase high quality weapons and materials, and even traders that wish the same. But most of the tourism here is also for the city's richness in religious culture. Those that are wishing to pray in the gods or seek pilgrimage come to this city to visit their temples as its the one city in the Republic that is the most dedicated to this.

Architecture

The buildings themselves that are closest to the mountains have been made as elegant as can be and it can be seen that they have had time do so as most citizens in the Republic live a very long time. While not as good as dwarven make, those who are are very recommended to the city as for the purpose of it. Coming closer to the walls the structures no longer seem to be hewn from the mountains and start loosing their elegancy but are still made of the same material. Most of the structures can also be seen with various religious symbols on them, representing the faiths of the inhabitants.

Geography

The city itself is built around a hill with most buildings seeming to come out of the side much like the capital of the Rohan. The city inclines as the hill does as well, making it quite tall but not exactly wide. This makes it so that the city has quite a number of stairs, especially leading up to the main hall.
