Denz Plaza
The Central Plaza of Novi Grad. The Plaza was originally named Corvinus Plaza, after the Hungarian King who conquered Sokovia in 1468. In 2001, following Sokovia independance, it was renamed in honour of one of the heroes of the Sokovia War of Independance, General Alois Denz.
In medieval times, the plaza was the location of the main Stepanszeg market. In particular, the Plaza was famous for the Passover Market, a kosher food market which took place annually during passover. This tradition endured until World War II, while the regular market continued until the country came under communist rule in 1948, when public gatherings were banned by the military governor of Novi Grad, General Kamil Novoty.
During the Ultron Offensive, the Plaza was the sight of one of the largest battles between the Avengers and Ultron Drones.
