Jewish
The Jews (Hebrew: הוּדִים) are an ethnoreligious group originating from the region which is now modern Israel. Judaism is the ethnic religion of the Jewish people, although its observance varies from strict to none, and individuals of other ethnic backgrounds may convert to Judaism.
The Jewish diaspora is broadly grouped into three major subdivisions, based on where their ancestors settled; Ashkenazim (Central and Eastern Europe), Sephardim (the Iberian Peninsula), and Mizrahim (Middle East and North Africa).
Approximately 41% of the Jewish population worldwide live in Israel, with a further 41% in the United States of America. Other major Jewish population centers include the U.K, France, Canada, Russia, and Brazil.
