Having been captured by the Skrull, Vers is interrogated using a machine which allows a subject's memories to be displayed, accidentally partially unlocking Vers's memories of her life as Carol Danvers.
Vers is able to use her powers to escape and steals a ship, crashlanding on the nearest planet, Earth.
