Interlude: The Dweller in the Deep

The Monster Squad is approached by an Elven captain named Tr'Alik of The Rising Tide.  He hires Lavinia's Folly to help him attack and drive back to the depths of the sea a legendary creature known as the Dweller in the Deep.  This creature rises from the sea every 13 years and if not driven back will attack ships and destroy entire towns.  Tr'Alik has taken this responsibility upon himself for the past century, and is covered in glowing psychic scars to prove it.
The Monster Squad heads out to see with Tr'Alik's first mate, Brahim Evenwood aboard.  They summon the dweller, discovering that the adult Dweller has been replaced by a younger juvenile, and that the elder has been killed by nine mind flayers and some other larger creature.  They successfully drive it back, but Tr'Alik and The Rising Tide are lost, and Zemiyah gains a large glowing purple scar on her head for her trouble.
