The party discovers a strange, alien wreckage of a ship made entirely of metal.

The party discovers a strange, twisted, metal ship of some sort smashed into the ground, crumpling up and scattering debris far and wide. A few feet from the wreck are three human corpses that look as if they’ve been there some time. The otherworldly vessel seems to be incomplete, as if torn from a larger structure. Despite this, the ship is larger than most of the houses you’ve seen in Saltmarsh. Foul smelling vapors hiss from the wreckage, and bizzare, tentacle-like metal tubes emerge from it.   The wreckage contained a severely injured Githyanki who, after being defeated, had his head explode as an intellect devourer fled the body and scurried away. The ship contained little of value, but did have a large floating pool in it containing a brine of some kind.
