Sneaky Raiders

The team are around the town of Eschbach when it gets raided by Nordic Berserkers and their allies.

Plot points/Scenes

The team are around Eschbach doing jobs and interacting with the locals. A group of injured & dying villagers come in from the north east from outlying villages & hamlets (and some are Saxons). They have fled as Eschbach is the cloest safe haven. They have suffered attacks by Viking raiders made up of Berserkers, and their animal companions, with them sailing down the Rhine avoiding the cities where possible by dragging their ships over land where they can.   They hear that the berserkers have heard that Eschbach has treasure and deliberately targetting smaller towns & villages and are a day away. Some are mounted on animals such as huge white bears, wolves/warg, and large boars acting as a mobile cavalry. The berserker force is still gathering some of these animals on their way down.   Within a day on the morning of a foggy day they can hear the sound of boars, and the odd bear, coming from the north east. Then the attack begins.   The team can defend the town however they want, and they have access to the Burgeaters, a militia and the odd trveller guards as well as any troops moving through (50% chance). Berserkers mounted on boars (25), polar bears (5), and worgs (15) lead the charge. Some of these may try to attack from the flanks and back using their speed (increased to 45). The boars & worgs increase the Str & Con of the rider by 1 and adds a bite attack to their multiattack (1d12 piercing damage), while the bears increase it by 1 attack with either (2d10 piercing damage) bite attack or a claw attack (1d12 slashing damage).   The team can easily fight it off given time but may take a mauling in the process. The berserkers aim for the Ludger forge, the church, the motte-and-bailey, and town hall.   They are likely to cause some damage to the rest of the town but able to rebuild quickly. If the berserkers are able to, they may grab some slaves and riches & retreat.
