Legendary Requires Attunement

God Killer. Any creature marked as Aberration, Celestial, Fiend (Demon, Devil), Elemental, or Fey takes double damage from the weapon, and the wielder can change the Additional Damage Type from Necrotic to either Radiant or Force before making an attack with it. In any case, if the creature being attacked is a named deity, it takes triple damage from the attack.   Named Victim. As an alternative, the wielder can spend an hour carrying out a blood ritual naming a specific individual for the blade to target. This does not stack with any other rule except the basic bonus. The named creature takes the normal damage, plus the following damage: 7 2d6 necrotic damage, 7 2d6 radiant damage, and 7 2d6 force damage. The weapon also is treated as a +4 magical weapon only against that named creature.   Magical Weapon. The Deicide is a +3 magical weapon.   There Can Be Only One. The Deicide is a unique weapon and only one can exist at any one time.

The Deicide is a unique Greatsword, rumoured to be of ancient origin created before most civilisations came about. The specific creator is unknown but mentioned in texts hundreds of thousands of years old as being a member of a group called the Ancient Ones & used in a conflict called The War in Heaven. Supposedly made of a single long blade of obsidian shot through with microscopic threads of adamantium, silver, and mithril, it is a rare piece. The pommel & blade guards are made of adamantium, silver & mithril as well, in the form of coiled serpents with the heads, mouths open. When seen it does not seem to have aged at all and keeps its edge.

Thought lost for aeons it appears occasionally, when there is great turmoil in the world. When this happens, it is usually when a great hero or villain rises, and the balance of power is swinging too much one way or the other. When it does, it is generally seen as an ill omen, especially when the blade's power to target a named individual is activated. To do this an hour-long ritual is needed and only the Yuan-Ti or certain blasphemous grimoires from a by-gone era contains the proper ritual. In every case a sacrifice of a powerful cleric of evil is needed to gain the blood to halfway through the ritual to bless the blade. To do this a part of the blood is used to draw a magical double circle on consecrated or desecrated ground with it. Four candles made from the fat of a Celestial is needed. Some of the remaining blood is used to draw magical sigils in the two circles and the candles placed to the cardinal points. The last of the blood is used to draw the name of the would-be victim on each side of the blade and placing the serpent heads in it. When this is done, this blood is sucked into the weapon and ready to be used.

The last time it was seen was when Attila the Hun rode the world and rumoured to be a victim of it. It lies somewhere, so it is said, in central Europe ready to be unearthed again and ready to be used again.
