The Witches of Wheastwhickt Brewery

The Witches of Wheastwhickt Brewery is a small organisation mixing magic and brewing beer. Looking to expand it's operations & it's magical community, it has took up lodgings in many a larger town & city in Frankia.

Structure

The brewery is run by the Appel family out of Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Each major area has at least one close relative leading the brewery in it and overseeing the business of selling it to the taverns in the area. Each is strictly controlled, and they constantly look for qualified staff members to help with the growth of the business.

Culture

The company, and the family, believe in making the best beer & cider they can. There is the belief a little bit of magic is put into each batch and literally do. It is done to improve taste, colour, strength, and storage length. They are constantly experimenting with different varieties so the need for fresh recruits, especially magic users, is always pushed too.

Public Agenda

The company is in the market of preparing the best beer & cider in the world. And nothing can stop them, least of all the rumours that they use vats with magic users drowned in them.

Assets

The Witches owns a massive brewery and some workshops at the edge of Rotterdam. There they experiment with different ingredients & magic to produce the best drinks possible. In many major towns & cities in Frankia they control at least one large warehouse and usually a local brewery attached. They also have the same set up in Fresia & Anglo-Saxon controlled regions in the south east of Britain. They have a large workforce and a number of mercenary guards who are only too willing to work for them for free drink.

History

The Appel family came to prominence roughly 300 years ago when members travelled as far as into the budding Frankish empire and Britain with the Angles, Saxons & Jutes. There they worked as mages with an interest in business opportunities. Seeing that there were plenty of different regional beers, and even cider, they found what they were looking for. Getting as much recipes as possible from their home country and the surrounding regions they started to experiment with beers & ciders. One thing they saw, was to grow they needed to get the best brewers and the best mages they could.   This led to them hiring the right people to start spreading their drinks wherever possible. They found by using nature magic that the grains & apples they use could be aided with the use of spells. Other ingredients could be used as well, with sugar beet being a popular ingredient for it's sweetness & colour. They experimented further adding additional colour & flavours, along with better clarity, and longer lasting products.    The biggest problem they have found is transport, and guardianship of their product. Others are willing to do anything to get their recipes, their barrels & bottles, and the spells they use. By doing so, they are constantly marketing their product with the line that they are in need of guards, and protectors to their assets to allow them to produce more, and to produce it locally where possible. They are clear they want to expand throughout as many regions as possible and the infrastructure is needed to help do this. They are always willing to pay handsomely for this where they can.
As of creation, none of the links have been expanded yet. Given time they will be accordingly.

Our beer is truly magical in taste!!

"I've tried some of their drink before. Had a barrel here once. Something called Blood Cider. Lovely, earthy, sweet and sharp in the one go. Sold out within 6 hours. The Witches of Wheastwhickt are constantly looking for those who can help them out that way. And free booze too!!"   An anonymous barkeep in Eschbach.
